LIVE MUSIC: Tom Horton Davis & Eric Bornstein

  • Putnam's vine/yard 188 South Main Street Hartford, VT, 05001 United States (map)

Come by the vine/yard and enjoy a live, musical performance by local musicians Tom Horton Davis and friend with a glass of wine, regional beer, and a tartine from Putnam’s First Friday special menu!

Tom Horton Davis is a part-time cancer doctor and full-time jazz enthusiast.  Over his 50 years on the guitar, he has wandered from 1950s revival (Tommy and the Twilights) to folk-rock (The Nestor Hose Angels) to Celtic (Miles To Go) and more recently to jazz (Absolute Jazz, Sunday Table).  He has a penchant for antique archtop guitars as well as romantic ballads.  He's an active member of the Interplay Jazz and Arts community founded by Fred Haas of Hartland, VT (InterplayJazzAndArts.org).  Tom has become a regular at Putnam's First Friday, with a rotating crew of like-minded musician friends.   For August First Friday, he and bassist Eric Bronstein will be playing and singing classic standards from the Great American Songbook.  Tom and his wife live in Norwich VT.

Eric Bronstein has played music since childhood. Has been playing standup bass in the Upper Valley since about 2000 when he joined the Interplay Jazz community, founded by Fred Haas. He has performed with various groups, both jazz as well as Americana bands, including Absolute Jazz, Off the Rails, Never Too Late, Just Friends, Rose Hip Jam, Sunday Table, Cafe Francais and many other jazz collaborations.

He is always looking for new possibilities and musicians to perform with. He remains an active member of the Interplay Jazz and Arts community.

What unites people in these groups is the universal language of music, the collegiality of close friends playing together, and creating something of beauty out of thin air to bring joy to others.

Tom Davis and Eric, both physicians, go way back, and have played together many times as Paradocs.

When not playing music, Eric continues to practice Family Medicine at Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, NH.
