We’re excited for our partnership with our friends at Norwich Bookstore! Each month, Book + a Bottle brings together both familiar and new faces for lively conversation, thoughtful reads, and wines chosen to complement the story just as much as the discussion.
Our book for October is Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher. Perfect for the spooky season, this dark fairytale follows an unassuming princess who embarks on a grim quest to rescue her sister from a prince whose dangerous cruelty is hidden behind a royal mask. To succeed, she must venture into dead lands and summon the dark magic needed to craft a dog out of bone, tame a chicken possessed by a demon, and bargain with a dust-wife who speaks to the dead. Blending eerie magic, dry humor, and subverted tropes, Kingfisher weaves a haunting story about found family, quiet resilience, and determination.
To complement the novel's gothic charm, eerie levity, and shadowed world, this month’s selection is the Broletto Lambrusco. Dark, and effervescent, this Italian sparkling red brings notes of dark berries, crisp acidity, and a bold finish. Its shadowy hue and rich depth make it a fitting potion for journeying alongside Kingfisher's ragtag crew.

Pick-up details:
Orders will be available for pick-up beginning September 24th, and you’ll receive an email as soon as your bundle is ready. Please note that orders will be held for two weeks from the pick-up start date. After that, unclaimed orders may be forfeited.
